Hotel Review: Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels | Mauritius

Hold Fire! Before you click away thinking Mauritius is just for beach weddings and honeymooners, think again! This stunning tropical island has so much more to offer than its pure white beaches!

The first time I visited Mauritius, it was on the back of a trip to Uganda and where I was so exhausted from trekking with the Gorillas, I didn’t even leave my hotel.

So when Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels invited me out to not only explore the diving on offer but to also have a true Mauritian experience, I jumped at the chance and wow did I realise how much I had missed out on! Read more about the dive trip here.

As much as I could happily spend my whole time underwater or laying on the pure white beaches, there are so many activities you can book, from Zip-lining to Golf, Dolphin spotting to spa treatments and let’s not forget dining in or out of the resorts on amazing Mauritian food!

The people of Mauritius are very proud of their island and it’s hard not to see why. They have a passion to share and although there is a diverse mix of cultures on the island everyone lives in harmony and shares each other’s traditions and festivals.

With all year round warm tropical climate, just 4hrs time difference from the UK and amazing safety, you can see why this island destination is perfect for every kind of traveller! If you are looking for a family-friendly holiday or the exclusivity of an adults-only resort, Beachcomber Hotels have it all.

For the first 6 nights, we stayed at the Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa in the north-west followed by our last night at the stunning Dinarobin Golf Resort & Spa, set at the foot of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Morne Brabant Mountain.

Hotel Overview: Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa

Located on the North-west coast of Mauritius, the Victoria Beachcomber is one of the most popular family-friendly resorts, with 255 ocean-facing rooms, 800m of uninterrupted pure white beach and ideally situated between the tourist hub of Grand Baie and Port Louis.

Rooms

There are a variety of seven different price levels of rooms and suites to choose from and are all beautifully decorated by local artisans with uninterrupted views of the turquoise blue ocean. I stayed in one of the deluxe ground floor rooms with sunshine yellow accents, opening out onto the palm tree-lined gardens just a stone’s throw away from the beach.

Word of warning! If like me you decide to hang out your wet bikini on your terrace, at the stroke of midnight thinking nobody will see you in your underwear, DO.NOT.CLOSE the door behind you!! The door automatically locks for safety and you might also end up doing a walk of shame to the reception in your underwear!!

My time in Mauritius and Beachcomber was unforgettable from scuba diving in the Indian ocean to sundowners on the beach, sunset cruises and to surprise beach BBQ’s, however you choose to spend your time at a Beachcomber Hotel you a sure to get a true Mauritian experience.

A huge thanks to Beachcomber hotels & Diving World Mauritius for inviting me on this dive trip of a life time sponsored by British Airways. My experience was complimentary but thoughts and opinions are my own.
